A couple of weeks ago I dropped by a club here, called "Scandals" filled
with the flannelized, Coors-capped white-trash to hear Swamp Thing in its
own "banjo-country-dance-music" set (with Rednex and some others), which
had just been preceded by Euro-crap house (TRUE lyric example: "Hey,
baby, sit on my face, I like the way your pussy tastes". For some reason
the women were whooping it up over this one) and then immediately
followed by homegrown-Canadian-guitar-rockers Tragically Hip and 54-40
(Apparently, at their concerts, people are into this neat thing called
"slam-dancing" or "moshing" (wot idjits)).
So don't tell me to be afraid. 8-)
The horror is here, in Manitoba.
But at least there is a small, but strong house/techno/idm scene.
